Lakme X Masaba Lip Pouts

Lakme X Masaba Lip Pouts

How about having a lipstick that matches the candies and colas that you had a child? Lip color that adds a vibrancy to your pouts and adds to the fun element of your dressing? Well, that's a thought we all have cherished but brought to reality by Lakme.

Lakme collaborated with Indian Designer Masaba Gupta, daughter of legendary actress Neena Gupta to bring forth this chirpy, quirky collection in a fun afternoon extravaganza

It was a fun launch filled with colors, candies and some awesome curated fusion food by Tag Gourmet, a new age restaurant by popular chef Ranveer Brar in Lower Parel. Have you been to that place? If no, do visit today.

I reached the place a little too early as I got free from a super duper #AXN Next Supermodel at Bandra. I had an early start of the day and was on the second day of my cycle. I so wanted to rush home and take a good siesta but the excitement to see Masaba's collaboration with Lakme and the whole new range kept me awake. I have to drop my Miss India Semi Finale at the evening as I was drop dead tired and aching for an immediate shower.

I hope you are following me on Instagram and Snapchat [Ekta Khetan] for live stories and more.

Coming back to the event, here are few snippets from the event and my review [incl a video] of the products. So watch on oops read on.

Before that, here's a beautiful slefie with Masaba Gupta. Tell me who doesn't love her.

Shades I have Tried

So, I have tried and swatched 5 different shades viz-

1) Caramel Toffee: It is a peachy nude shade. One of my most favorite from the range.

2) Bubble Pink: It is light, cool toned, fun pink color. Very vibrant, very energetic. Another fav from the range.

3) Orange Candy: It is a warm Toned Orange cum Crimson kind of shade. Not subtle, not too loud but a pop of orange married in red. The color gets little patchy and coverage is not full.

4) Role a Cola: It is a cool toned Purple kind of shade. It has a blue under tones and could  have been a wonderful shade. However,

5) Cherry Bite: It is a medium toned red with a bright tinge to it. Subtle and sober red.

Packaging: Lip pouts come in round slender tubes. The packaging is absolutely similar to their previous range of lip pouts, only the label is different. The lip color come packed in crayon style tubes and has a sturdy crayon bullet.

Swatches

From Left to Right: Roll a Cola, Cherry Bite, Bubble Pink, Orange Pop and Caramel Toffee

What I Liked about this Range

1) Bright Pop of Colors
2) Different Packaging
3) An Element of Fun and Jazz

What Could Have Been Better

1) Some Shades are Patchy and do not cover the whole lips
2) Price is unreasonable
3) Shades like chocolate Brown is missing.

Haute Kutir Verdict: It was a fun launch and the product looks interesting. The shades are matte in texture and good for regular wear. However the price at Rs 750/ tube is little unreasonable and can restrict purchasing decision in bulk. The product overall is quite interesting and am sure you will love to grab one or may be two. One for beauty and other for collection.

Hope you liked my review. If you can any question or want to collaborate with Haute Kutir, do email me at hautekutir@gmail.com

Love and XOXO
